Listeners - Emilio & Jose in Madrid

I've met Emilio and Jose this summer in Madrid. If you're walking on Calle Gran Via you can be sure you will see them. They have their own spot across the Telefonica building. Everyday it's the same and they look like they're getting ready for the stage. Some real Rolling Stones I should say. In terms of music I think you can pretty much guess what do they listen to. But still, I had to ask. So here it is, Judas Priest!

Headphones - in Madrid

There are so many blogs to follow but we don't have the time to do that. My favorite one which I follow on a daily basis is The Sartorialist. It's just a street fashion blog but I believe it's the best there is. Actually it's becoming more than just a simple street fashion blog but I'll let you see that for yourself.

That blog and my passion for music gave me an idea about a year ago. You see, I always wondered what music do people listen to. Do they really fall under the Radio and TV stations targets or they simply just listen to a totally different music. I find myself sometimes just skipping through the Radio stations without finding anything to like. Just the same ol' dance music and the made "hits" by the stations. Maybe the real hits are unknown to us just because we don't know how many people are listening to them. Or you could just ask them.

Well, until I made my mind about starting this project of course there were others out there doing the same thing. Asking people on the streets what music do they listen to. But I think that's something that could go on forever. Just see the trends and not only in music, but also in fashion because lately headphones have become a fashion statement throughout Europe. Brand stores like Bershka have launched a line of headphones with their latest collection and all around the world people are not just listening to music in their headphones, they are actually wearing the headphones. In different shapes and sizes they've become real accessories.

So, we'll just have to find out what kind of music people do listen to, or in some occasion we have to guess based on their looks. The above picture was taken in Madrid outside a fast food restaurant and that was the point I asked myself, what music is this guy looking to hear right now? What do you think?
